About Beyond My Sorrow

Why Beyond My Sorrow

For more than 10 years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside people from many different walks of life as they navigate grief. I have also known grief personally—as a wife, family member, friend, neighbor, and grief support facilitator.

Years ago, I lost my husband suddenly to cardiac arrest. My mind was reeling from the shock, and at the time, there were few grief-support resources available to help me understand what I was experiencing. Much of that journey I traveled on my own.

But I was never truly alone.

Beyond My Sorrow

The Heart Behind Beyond My Sorrow

Through the unpredictable days—the sadness, questions, emotional highs and lows, and moments when I thought my heart might break—the one constant I could depend on was the presence of God. His Spirit was with me.

That experience helped me understand something I have seen repeatedly in the lives of others: grief and love can occupy the same space.

We grieve deeply because we have loved deeply. Yet how grief looks and feels is different for each of us, shaped by our relationships, personalities, experiences, and the circumstances surrounding our loss.

I created Beyond My Sorrow to offer the kind of gentle guidance I once needed.

There is no rush here.

No timetable you must follow.

No expectation that your grief should look like someone else’s.

Created for the Journey
